I saw humanity in bus, she was deaf and dumb

I saw humanity, she was occupying one of the seat of bus in which I entered, wearing salwar- kameez and spectacle, having short boyish hairstyle and yeah she was deaf and dumb too. So, let’s have a look towards the behind scenes.

My mother never permits me to travel alone because she believes that no one is as bewitching as her daughter (as all other Indian moms casually do believe) , and if she travels without observation, someone will for sure kidnap her . So I never got a pleasure of travelling alone.
But last month the auspicious moment for which I was hungrily waiting for, arrived. As I received invitation from my friend to visit her. I asked my parents and by how I managed to persuade them. But how can we visualize their clearance without any condition? So, the condition was my brother’s company, as he too had to face interview there. So we begin our journey by bus and we reached the movement where it was time to get detach as he was getting behind the schedule for his interview and the destination of our was turning face from each others so, I told him to chase his own destination (happy from within) and he left me on bus station with delight of travelling lonely. But trust me, soon the delight was changing into fear, fear not of being kidnap but of being veered off as the routes were unknown and unknown was the experience too.

I started asking random people about my destination going bus and the answer was “soon it will be arriving” and this answer was dissatisfactory, which produced one more question and that was, what does soon refers here? Is it “1 minute?”, “2 minute?” Or “just next to the bus coming?” So for getting the exact quantitative answer I started searching some more random people from which one man pointed towards coming bus and said “it will drop you at your destination” and I just sprinted towards it.

The bus was brimming and I was enforced to stand. The bus also contains the room for ladies, senior citizen and abnormal people and the time I entered, 2 ladies looking normal has occupied the space of abnormal citizens seat which was totally fine for all, as no one physically challenged looking was standing in front of our eyes. I entered and grabbed the grab handle and journey of which I was fantasizing started. So I reach the first stop by how managing my heavy travelling bag, school bag and one carry bag. And I just felt, someone knocking me and I turned my face, it was a wheat color, wearing salwar-kameez and spectacle and having short boyish style lady who was being seated at abnormal rooms. I also observed that her temporary bus partner was absent and soon got that the first stop was her destination. The lady said me to occupy the unoccupied seat by doing several hand gestures and facial expressions which was quite understandable to me, so, I started pulling my bag, And the lady got melted by looking my efforts and started helping me. She just pointed towards the seat and I got that she’s trying to say that I must have the seat and she will take care of bags and even after I said “that’s so kind of you, but trust me I’ll manage” she just grabbed bag and placed it right down of my very future seat and I expressed my gratitude towards her but she only nodded her head, and one question struck me, that was “why the lady is using only non verbal communication?” And by how I stopped thinking about it and turned the lights toward another essential topic, which was, “ How far is my destination more?” I thought it’s better to give rest to brain and let’s ask the lady about it, so I asked and got that she was deaf and dumb. So she requested me using some hand gestures to re-ask the same question but in little slow mouth motion and I started doing (as I don’t wanted to make her feel that because of disabilities no one wants to interact with her) but she was still unable to guess what I was trying to find out, so I typed it on my mobile device but I found, she was illiterate. Then I thought not to trouble her more so I said “that’s totally fine I’ll take care of it”. But she really wanted to help me and said me to ask again and I started acting, which was quite effective as she got that I am searching for some location’s information but what exactly was still the question. So she said to write it down on her hand by finger in Hindi language and accordingly I done and finally we both were happy as she got my query and I got her satisfied smile. She enacted, “your destination is far and my one is quite before your’s one, so just keep your eyes on the coming holdings and shop’s poster, so it will be easy for you to recognize your destination”. And soon after some more conversation it was time for farewell of her.
I got to learn from her that even after not getting help from the creator (God), she wants to help other and we all having all body organs in very well condition thinks multiple time to help and even after that many time we just don’t. We always try to dig out our benefit from each and every tasks. We really need a change, not in society, in ourself because society is product of me, you and all individual.
Mahatma Gandhi famously said, “You must be the change you want to see in the world.”

Being part of orthodox background, had learn alot about what ladies can't take and should not even take, this made me write, write about my experiences. They say, your words are very meaningful and makes us learn but I believe, not my words, it is my journey. I'm mass communication student. I'd been writing since childhood but now it's time to show taste of some. I've two goals in my life, one is to come on television so that my father can proudly point towards it and can show to world that, "look she's my daughter" and the second one is to earn sufficient money which can never put me in dilemma for affording any expenses and to build school which will give free education to all who really needs.
